Dallas C. Curry Jr.

April 4, 1943 — November 5, 2020

Dallas Chester Curry, Jr. (77 years, 7 months old)

April 4, 1943 –November 5, 2020

Son of Dallas C. Curry, Sr. and Mable Elizabeth Burton, both of Columbia, Kentucky.

Dallas was born in Jeffersonville, Indiana and moved to Chicago as a child. He lived in Worth, IL for over 40 years (1969 to 2013) in a house he built himself. He lived at Heritage Woods Watseka the last years of his life.

Dallas passed away after a long struggle with cancer. He fought and won many battles against cancer, but sadly, lost the war. Dallas was a true individual, a humble and quiet soul, and a unique character. He was an innovative and artistic man who could do just about anything – and do it well. He saw the truth and beauty in the simplest of things, and adored God's creation... most especially nature. He chose to live a quiet life, never seeking fortune or fame, but living a life full of experiences and friendships.

Dallas was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James Curry. Survivors include his sweetheart, Mary Tuminello of Watseka; daughters Julia Curry Amico (John), Cynthia Curry, and Linda Marchio; brother Ralph Curry and two sisters Carol Jean Schwartz Digles and Elizabeth Welsh (Bob); eight grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many friends.

A memorial service will be held at Heritage Woods in Watseka in the near future, pending the lifting of COVID restrictions. Updated information will be provided at this site. The family will hold a private memorial service near Chicago in the spring.

Special thanks to the staff at Heritage Woods in Watseka for making him feel at home for the last four years, and to Mary, our angel, who was with Dallas through the toughest of times and to the end.

Dallas will always be with us in our hearts.
