Carl McCarty Berg, 23, of Kentland, IN formerly of Cissna Park, IL, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2015.
He was born on September 6, 1991 in Danville, IL, the son of Glenn Berg and Linda (McCarty) Berg.
Mr. Berg worked as a farmer for McCarty Family Farms, worked with INTX - Biological Fertilizer Company in Kentland, IN and was a Laborer for Yates Construction. He played MCP Football, was a member of the Fountain Creek 4-H and showed cattle at Iroquois County Fair, and a member of Cissna Park FFA. Carl enjoyed fishing, chopping firewood, and golfing. He was a big BEARS, Boilers and CUBS fan. Most of all he enjoyed farming with his brothers and his grandpa, as well as grandma Pat’s cooking. Most recently he became a Member of the Local #274 Lafayette, IN.
Surviving Mr. Carl Berg are his parents, Glenn and Linda Berg of Cissna Park, IL; four brothers and sister-in-laws, Michael and Melissa Blanding of Wolcott, IN, Mark and Jennifer Blanding of Brook, IN, Nye Berg of Cissna Park, and Tyler Blanding of Cissna Park; four nieces and nephews, Kylie Blanding, Michaela Blanding, Trenton Blanding, and Evan Blanding; maternal grandparents, Delbert and Patricia McCarty of Kentland, IN; three aunts, Karen (John) Dolan, Susan McCarty, Sandra (Bob) Bevill; one uncle, Bob Berg; and nine cousins.
He is also preceded in death by one uncle, Dick Berg; and paternal grandparents, Carl and Dorothy Berg.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2015 from 4-8pm (CST), at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka, IL.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 31, 2015 at 11:00 am (CST), at Christian Bible Church in Cissna Park, IL . A visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Pastor Silas Montgomery will officiate.
Memorials in Mr. Berg's name can be made to the Milford Swimming Pool and the Cissna Park Education Foundation.
