Donald “Don” Earl Morton, 96, of Cissna Park, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 in Danville, Illinois.
He was born on August 8, 1922 in Cissna Park, Illinois, the son of Lester Morton and Grace (Newell) Morton.
Don married Laverne Dippel in Buckley, IL on July 24, 1943. She preceded him in passing.
Mr. Morton served in the ARMY as a Corporal during WWII. He worked for UARCO for over 27 yrs. Don was also a member of the Cissna Park American Legion. He enjoyed doing yard work, fishing, and lapidary (making stones into jewelry).
Surviving Mr. Morton are his sons; Michael (Connie) Morton of Bean Station, TN, Earl Morton of Stone Creek, OH; daughter, Cathy Haley (Tom Norton) of Danville, IL; grandchildren, Bryan Morton, Lesetta Gastrich, Stephanie Haley, and Matthew Haley; four step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
He is also preceded in death by his parents; wife, Laverne; brothers, LeRoy, Raymond, Kenneth, Jack, and Aubrey Morton; and sisters, Lou Ella Hari and Wanda Vonberg.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 10-11 am, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cissna Park, IL.
Funeral Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at 11:00 am, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cissna Park, IL. Pastor Hahn will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Cissna Park Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Cissna Park, IL.
