Esther Louise Patterson (Hawkes), 94, of Marysville, MI passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2017.
Esther was born on July 28, 1923 to Arthur John Hawkes and Helen Carpenter Snook Hawkes in Sheldon, IL. They both precede her in death.
She attended school in Sheldon, IL. Esther married Marvin Eugene Patterson on June 8, 1941. Marvin preceded her in death on November 16, 1979 after thirty-eight years of marriage. They had eight children.
Esther was also preceded in death by four sons, Marvin (Skip) in 1999, Eugene in 1991, Fred in 2016, David in 2000; and one son-in-law, Ron Marshall in 2003.
Mrs. Patterson is survived by two daughters, Dianne Marshall of Anderson, IN and Lori and Jim Beatty of Marysville, MI; two sons, Kenneth and Nancy Patterson of Watseka, and Stanley and Kathy Patterson of Watseka; eighteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
Esther was a member and past president of Royal Neighbors, as well as a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She loved playing bingo and doing crafts with her friends Laurie and Rosie.
A private family viewing was held on October 26, 2017 at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka, IL, followed by a graveside service and burial at Iroquois Memorial Park Cemetery. Pasto Joseph Hughes officiated.
