Jerome C. Cotter, 72, of Watseka, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2015.
He was born May 27, 1942, the son of Lester and Frances (Ratcliff) Cotter, in Iroquois Township, IL.
Mr. Cotter worked for Hamilton Brothers of Watseka for 39 years, until they closed, then opened up his own shop to work on starters, alternators, and hoses.
He was a Shriner and was Worshipful Master from 1999-200 at the Watseka Lodge #446. He was also a member of the 100 mile Trail Horse Association for 30 years, and a member of Scottish Rite – Valley of Danville. Jerome enjoyed horseback riding and anything to do with horse. He also enjoyed visiting at VIPS with his coffee buddies.
Surviving Mr. Cotter is one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Jessica Cotter of Watseka; one daughter, Janice Cotter and fiancé Fred Dietrich of Watseka; two brothers and sister-in-laws, Calvin and Mary Cotter of Watseka, and Lavonne and Liz Cotter of Onarga; one sister and brother-in-law, Estella and Pat McCullough of Watseka; ten grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He is also preceded in death by both his parents; and one sister, Bev Cotter.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015 from 4-8pm, at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka. Masonic Services will take place at 7:00pm.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka. A one hour visitation will be held prior to services. Elaine Daugherty will officiate.
Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Watseka, IL.
