Marilyn (Thomison) Dykstra

Marilyn (Thomison) Dykstra, 81, Pharr, Texas and Pardeeville, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2016 in Texas.

She was born on July 10, 1934 in Beaverville Township, IL, the daughter of Lowell Swanson and Catherine (Disosway) Swanson.

Marilyn married James Thomison on September 18, 1955 in Sheldon, IL. He has since passed. On August 29, 2013 Marilyn married Severyn Dykstra in Branson, Missouri.

Mrs. Thomison-Dykstra was a factory worker in Watseka, IL. She enjoyed traveling and bird watching. Marilyn was a member of the Watseka American Legion Auxiliary, Society of Mayflower Descendants, and Iroquois County of Salon Eight and Forty.

Surviving Mrs. Thomison-Dykstra is her husband, Severyn Dykstra of Pharr, TX and Pardeeville, WI; one son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Ashlie Thomison of Bozeman, MT; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Tom Coventry of Bolingbrook, IL; one brother and sister-in-law, Allen and Ada Swanson of Indiana; two sisters and brother-in-law’s, Reta and Lloyd Beherns of Danville, IL, and Arlene and Morris Hill of Woodland, IL; one step-son and step-daughter-in-law, Terry Dykstra and Robin of DeForest, WI; one step-son-in-law, Bruce Vandezande of Madison, WI; five grandchildren, Jared Hagar, Kelsey Hagar-Olsen, Drew Hagar, Dillon Coventry, and Connor Coventry; two great-grandchildren, Owen and Hadley Olsen; and many nieces and nephews.

She is also preceded in death by both parents; husband, James Thomison; one brother, Wayne Swanson; and step-daughter, Laurie Vandezande.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2016 from 9am-11am, at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka, IL.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2015 at 11:00 am, at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka, IL. Pastor Joseph Hughes will officiate.

Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Watseka, IL.
