Marjorie Jean Washburn, 86, of Hillsboro, Il formerly of Watseka, Il, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2015.
She was born on March 4, 1929 in Casey, Il, the daughter of Ivan Carpenter and Lydia (Cochanour) Carpenter.
Marjorie married James R. Washburn on July 20, 1948. He passed on October 5, 1982.
Mrs. Washburn was a receptionist at Illinois Bell for 10 years and a dispatcher for AT&T for 10 years. She was also a member of the Lady’s Auxiliary VFW in Watseka. She enjoyed cross stitching and baking.
Surviving Mrs. Washburn is one son and daughter-in-law, James and Lynn Washburn of Taylor Springs, IL; one grandchild, Ken Kellerman of Decatur, Il; three great-grandchildren; and five nieces and nephews.
She is also preceded in death by both parents; husband, James Washburn; and two sisters, Judy and Rosemary.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 from 12:00pm-1:00pm at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 1:00 pm, at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka. Pastor Joseph Hughes will officiate.
Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Watseka, Il.
