Martha Margaret Neukomm, 93, of Watseka, IL passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2017.
She was born on May 19, 1924 in Ash Grove Township, the daughter of Henry Brutlag and Anna (Teske) Brutlag.
Martha married Ervin "Bud" Neukomm on May 4, 1947 in Woodworth, IL. He passed on January 20, 2013.
Martha was a member of the Ladies Aid and an American Red Cross Volunteer. She enjoyed quilting, babysitting grandchildren, gardening, canning, playing cards, bingo, and cooking, expecially baking pies. She made the best mincemeat pie you ever stick a fork in.
Surviving Mrs. Neukomm are her children, Larry and Sharon Neukomm of Roanoke, IL, Glenn and Connie Neukomm of Buckley, IL, Susan and Robert Ivey of Cape Coral, FL, Shirley and Gerald Bruens of Cissna Park, IL, and Peggy and Kenny Gossett of Watseka,; sister-in-laws, Hildegard Brutlag of Woodworth, Geneva Brutlag of San Leandro, CA, Evelyn Brutlag of Danforth, and Donna Brutlag of Woodworth; twelve grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bud; one son, Dale Neukomm; five sisters, Alma Bohlmann, Lorena Lustfeldt, Mildred Buhr, Ella Brutlag, Amanda Sturm; seven brothers, Edwin, Elvin, Victor, Allen, Wilbur, Rudy, and Melvin Brutlag; son-in-law, Donald Benner; and one great-grandson, Nathan Simpson.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 19, 2017 from 2pm until 5pm, at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka.
Funeral Services will take place on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 11:00 am, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Woodworth. A one hour visitation will be held prior to services. Pastor Stoerger will officiate.
Burial will follow at the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.
