Michael "Wheels" Wielert

Michael “Wheels” Wielert, 56, of Watseka, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at his home.

He was born on January 4, 1959 in Watseka, IL, the son of William Wielert and Mary (Hamilton) Wielert.

Mr. Wielert married Patricia Molter on April 22, 1978 at St. Joseph’s Church in Kentland, IN.

Michael was a farmer and also worked for the County Highway Department, as well as a former member of the Watseka Fire Department. He enjoyed farming, friends, and socializing.

Surviving Mr. Wielert is his wife, Patricia “Patty” Wielert of Watseka, IL; two sons, William Wielert of Watseka, Jonathan Wielert and fiancée Jessica Paro of Sheldon; one daughter and son-in-law, Valorie and Lance Kimbrell of Nesbit, Mississippi; five grandchildren: Aiden Wielert, Ian Wielert, Allison Kimbrell, Sarah Kimbrell, and Brianna Kimbrell; two brothers and sister-in-laws, Allen and Sharon Wielert of Watseka, James and Teresa Wielert of Warrensburg, Missouri; two sisters, Pam Boswell of Cleveland, Mississippi, Linda Sharper of Limestone, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

He is also preceded in death by both parents; step-father, Delmar Laney; father-in-law, John Molter; and best friend, Delbert Onnen.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2015 from 2p-7p, at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 5, 2015 at 11:00 am, at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka. A one hour visitation will be held prior to services. Pastor Joseph Hughes will officiate.

Burial will follow at Prairie Dell Cemetery in Iroquois, IL.
