Morris E. Hill Sr.

Morris E. Hill Sr., 85, of Woodland, Illinois, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017.

He was born on September 11, 1931 in rural Milford, IL, the son of Ollie Hill and Viola (Hubner) Hill.

Morris married Arlene Swanson on December 30, 1955 in Milford. Mr. Hill graduated from Milford High School in 1949 and joined the Air Force shortly after in December 1951. He served in the Air Force until December 1955 while stationed in Fort Campbell, KY. Morris was a Mechanic for 36 years. He was also an active member for the NRA, Woodland Village Board, ILEA, and Modern Woodmen. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking.

Surviving Mr. Hill is his wife, Arlene Hill of Woodland; son and daughter-in-law, Morris Jr. and Linda Hill of Watseka; daughter and son-in-law, Jeanie and Mark Tweedy of Milford; sister, Dorothy German of Milford; brother-in-law, Richard Allen of Milford; grandchildren, Chad and Cara Tweedy of Loda and Sara and Nathan McTaggart of Watseka; great-grandchildren, Cruz Tweedy and Baby McTaggart on the way; and many nieces and nephews.

He is also preceded in death by both parents; one brother, Wendell Hill; and one sister, Deloris Allen.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 10am-12pm, at Milford Methodist Church in Milford.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 12:00pm (noon), at Milford Methodist Church in Milford. Pastor Gail Meyers will officiate.

Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Milford, IL.

Memorials in Mr. Hill's name cane be made to the Milford Methodist Church or Donor’s Choice.
