Shirley Roach, 88, of Martinton, IL, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2016.
She was born on June 3, 1927 in Pocahontas, Iowa, the daughter of William Kerker and Louise (Waechter) Kerker.
Shirley married Charles Roach on December 1, 1951 in Peoria, at St. Bernard’s Church.
Shirley was a member of the Central Illinois Green Club, showing antique tractors. She volunteered for the Iroquois County Red Cross, and was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Beaverville. Mrs. Roach was a Register Nurse for over fifty years. She enjoyed doing any outside work having to do with her yard and garden.
Surviving Mrs. Roach is one son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Carla Roach of Rochelle, IL; one daughter, Ann Roach of Martinton; one sister, Betty Powers of Peoria, IL; one sister-in-law, Pat Kerker of Peoria, IL; four grandchildren, Clay, Patrick, Michael, and Richard; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She is also preceded in death by both parents; husband, Charles; one daughter, Kathy; and two brothers, Stanley and Bill.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 4-8pm, at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka.
Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 10:00 am, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Beaverville, IL. Father Daniel Belanger will officiate.
Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Martinton.
Memorials in Mrs. Roach's name can be made to the St. Mary’s Restoration Fund.
